Roman Valent

Roman was born in Czechoslovakia. He made his first photography dark room while standing on a washing machine in his small bathroom. Later on, during his studies of Visual Media, at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, Roman earned his living by editing and 1st AD jobs. Meanwhile, he was also shooting his first own short films, which brought him international festival recognition.

Since then Roman has directed more than 300 TV commercials, various music videos, and shorts. He is a talented artist with an epic approach to storytelling, pursuing the spinning nucleus in every script. His cinematic visual style, subtle working with actors and the incorporation of post-production, have made him one of the most interesting directors on the market nowadays. His global list of work has received numerous international awards and nominations at various festivals, including Epica, NY Festival, Cannes, Cresta, LIA, etc. Roman currently lives in Prague, Czech Republic.
