Matty Manhire started out installing mechanical dinosaurs. From there: acting school, photo assistant, commercial photographer, director. No clear through-line except a genuine curiosity about people and a stubborn belief that the best stories make you feel something before you understand why.
He's spent over a decade (yes, he's writing this in third person, bear with him/me) building a reputation for work that lives at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and human storytelling. Virtual production, volume wall sequences, VFX-heavy filmmaking. He knows his way around the technical end without losing sight of the thing that actually matters: the person in the frame.
His short film Flames won Best Director at the Berlin Indie Film Festival and toured internationally. His commercial work has been deemed "impressive" by people (that aren't his parents).
